Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature rotation-angle detector which is not influenced by various magnetic fluxes, by providing the rotation-angle detector having a photoelectric pickup incorporated in a distributor. CONSTITUTION:Shaft 1 which synchronizes with an engine and rotates at a rotational frequency a half the frequency of the engine rotates rotary disk 8 which has a window for angle detection. The rotation of rotary disk 8 is detected by photoelectric pickup 13 consisting of a light emission diode and photodetection diode. Pickup 13 is provided with slits for passing light, having a shape similar to that of the window of rotary disk 8, at the light emission diode side and photodetection diode side, thereby preventing light leaking from adjacent windows of rotary disk and the disorder of a detection signal due to the difference in light reflection coefficient in the plate thickness direction of the windows of rotary disk 8.
