Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the tension of the cable very accurately by providing compressing type transducers having load sensing surfaces whose curvature is equal to that of a sheave on the cable contact surface of the sheave. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of the load transducers 16 having the load sensing surfaces whose curvature is the same as that of the sheaves are attached to the contact surface of the cable 15 of the sheave 11. The outputs of the transducers 16 are taken out of the rotating sheaves 11 via a slip ring 19 and conducted to a cable tension indicator 17. The cable tension T is measured from the output from the transducer 16 contacting the cable 15. Therefore, the result of the very accurate measurement of the cable tension can be obtained.
