Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the amount of oil supplied to a fixing roller constant by coating oil for preventing offset on the fixing roller by way of a supply roller and a coating roller, and making the press-contacting of the coating felt with the supply roll freely adjustable. CONSTITUTION:Oil 22 such as silicone oil for preventing offset is supplied to a fixing roller 3 by way of a coating roller 7 which is held put in pressure contact with the roller 3 by means of a felt material 23, a coating felt 16, a supply roller 14 and a compression spring 12. On increasing of the amount of oil supply from the roller 14 to the roll 7, the frictional force between the rollers 14 and 7 decreases and the roll 14 slips or stops, thereby adjusting the amount of oil supply to the roll 7. If the rate of the pressure contact between the felt 16 and the roll 14 is changed by an adjust screw 25, the amount of the oil supplied to the roll 14 is adjusted. Hence, the amount of oil supply is adjusted in such a manner that the oil 22 is coated always at a constant rate to the roll 3, whereby the good fixing is accomplished, and the occurrence of swelling of the fixing roll by the excessive coating of the oil is prevented.
