Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect an occurence of a bridge, by predetermining a timing for a supply device to restart or for a level meter to become insensitive during a normal operation of a hopper so that said occurence may be known due to no restart of said device or a sensing of a level meter even after said timing.
CONSTITUTION: A rise of hopper level after start of operation of a hopper, is detected by a level meter 4 when the level reaches L at time A, and a clocking T1 is started. After time T1, a supply device 1 is stopped at time B, when a clocking T3 is started. At time C when the hopper level drops to CL, the level meter 4 becomes insensitive and a clocking T2 is started. When time T2 reaches the set value T2, the supply device 1 is restarted. The clocking T3 is then stopped, and if T3<TF is applicable, a bridge braker does not work and a normal operation is repeated. If the bridge is formed, the hopper level does not descend, the clocking T2 is not started and the supply device 1 is not started. If the clocking T3 passes beyond a time TF, under these circumstances, a bridge braker 5 works at time E. TF implies the time allowable for starting the supply device.
