Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the reduction of the distance between a rotary seat and a side wall when the seat is in use, by providing a sliding frame and a rotary frame over a base and by causing the sliding frame to slide away from the side wall when the seat is turned. CONSTITUTION:A sliding frame 2 is provided over a base 1. A coiled tension spring 4 and a friction lockup mechanism 5 are provided between the base 1 and the sliding frame 2. A rotary frame 17 is provided over the sliding frame 2. A release lever 23 is mounted with a pin 24 which penetrates the through hole 21 of a support bracket 20. The range of swing of the lever 23 is limited by a pin 26. A lockup member 27 is hung with the pin 26 so that the member 27 can be moved up and down. The lockup member 27 acts to keep the rotary frame 17 from swinging. The release lever 23 is coupled to the lever 11 of the lockup mechanism 5. A cam 32 is provided on the base 1. A cam follower 34 is provided on the rotary frame 17. The release laver 23 is operated for releasing to swing to the frame 17, engage the cam 32 with the cam follower 34 and move the sliding frame 2 together with the rotary frame 17.
