Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the drive of longitudinally connected ROMs with a low cell voltage and to reduce the pellet size of integrated circuit for watches, by driving the required part of longitudinally connected ROM system through the use of boosted cell voltage. CONSTITUTION:In watches, the level shift circuit 103, address decoder 104 are driven with the cell voltage boosted from the boosting circuit 101 for liquid crystal display. Then, the timing pulse from the timing generator 102 shifted to high level at the circuit 3 and matched to the logic level with the decoder 104 is fed to the decoder 104. Further, the output logic level of the decoder 104 is higher and the gate bias of ROM105 is deeper, longitudinally connected ROM105 operates normally and readout of ROM105 is faster. Thus, the ROMs are driven with a low cell voltage and the pellet size of the integrated circuit such as watches can be reduced.
