CONSTITUTION:The fixed part of the electromagnetic drive device of head is fixed to the base of the magnetic disc assembly 8, and the moving part is fixed to the rocking arm 4 at the same side as the magnetic head assembly 1 to the pivot shaft 5. The pivot shaft support stand 6 and the magnetic circuit assembly 9 are fixed to the base of the magnetic disc device. In this rocking type magnetic head, the distance between the drive coil 3 producing drive force and the head holder 2 to be driven is short, and thus, 3 and 2 can be connected to avoid the elastic distortion. With the constitution like this, the transfer function of low resonant frequency present between the drive coil 3 and the magnetic head assembly 1 is eliminated, allowing to avoid the lowering in the performance of the feedback control of the magnetic head.
