Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The surfaces of quicklime particles for desiccating agents are coated by a resin having ≥200% elongation at room temperatre (polyvinyl acetate resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, natural rubber or the like). It is necessary to increase the amount of coating by the above-mentioned resin when the resin of high moisture permeability is used but in generatl it is made about 5W30wt% based on the total weight of the quicklime particles and the coating resin. It is possible to detect the hygroscopic degree of the quicklime particles as a change in the color of the resin coating occuring in their volume expansion by coating these by a colored resin.
