Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the circuit for an electromagnetic flowmeter simpler, cheaper as well as highly reliable by inserting a short circuit preventing circuit between the driving circuit for the switching transistors which alternately operate to reverse the direction of the current to flow through an exciting coil and the driving signal source. CONSTITUTION:When a positive driving signal is applied by a driving signal circuit 23, being delayed according to the time constant (t) of a short circuit preventing circuit 37 comprising a resistor 47 and a capacitor 48, an NPN type transistor (Tr) 18 conducts, and consequently, a switching transistor is turned on, so that a positive exciting current is allowed to flow through an exciting coil 13 from a power source 11. On the other hand, a PNP type transistor 21 is brought to a non- conducting state, and consequently, a switching transistor 16 is turned off with the falling characteristics shorter than tau. When the driving signal is negative, similarly, Tr16 is turned on, while Tr12 is turned off with the falling characteristics shorter than tau, so that a negative current from the power source 15 flows through the exciting coil 13. Tr 12 and Tr16 never be turned on at the same time. Thereby, the circuit can be made simpler, cheaper as well as highly reliable.
