Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a device so inexpensive to permit its throwaway by a method wherein periodic variations of the liquid surface of a liquid in a vertical container between the lower and upper limits in a siphon tube are detected and transmitted so as to compute and display a signal indicating the flowing amount corresponding to the change of signal and time. CONSTITUTION:The liquid surface l is gradually raised as a liquid is introduced from a port 3. When the liquid surface l reaches the upper limit lH of a siphon tube, the liquid is discharged via the siphon tube 4 to the outside, and the discharging continues until the liquid surface returns to the lower limit lL of the siphon. The discharging stops at this time, so that the liquid surface is again gradually raised. The liquid surface periodically repeats going up and down between the lower limit lL and the upper limit lH. The number of ups and downs of the liquid surface is counted by a microcomputer 8. Since the amount of a liquid discharged at one time has been measured and inputted to the microcomputer, the integrated liquid amount can be computed. If this amount is divided by the time required, the flow amount is obtainable, and the value is displayed on a device 9.
