Abstract

CONSTITUTION: By working valve 4, waste activated carbon 1 discharged by the treatment of water, oil, chemical soln., gas, etc. is dropped from upper storage tank 2 of the regenerator into the space between electrodes 5, 6 stepwise attached to the outside of inner tube 21 and the inside of outer tube 9. Tube 21 is rotated with main shaft 16. By supplying an electric current of a DC high voltage to electrodes 5, 6, discharge sparks are generated between electrodes 5, 6 to evaporate water contained in carbon 1 as well as carbonize or oxidize and peel off org. and inorg. matters stuck to carbon 1. Thus, carbon 1 is activated. This activated carbon enters water tank 17, where it is purified with ultrasonic purifier 23 and taken out with screw conveyor 12.
