Abstract

PURPOSE:To securely maintain the required torque and to enable to commutate at light load for the subject inverter by a method wherein a power-factor is varied to increase a load current by bringing it to above the commutation threshold value when the load current dropped below the commutation threshold value. CONSTITUTION:The speed signal wm of a motor 40 sent from a detector 62 and a reference value are matched, and a secondary current reference I2 is calculated by a speed controlling circuit 64. On the other hand, the secondary magnetic flux phi2 of the motor is calculated by a vector computing circuit 67 and a magnetic current reference i0 is calculated by a magnetic flux controlling circuit 69. Then, each current reference I2 and i0 is inputted to a primary current reference generating circuit 70, a primary current reference I1 is established and this current is inputted to a limit controlling circuit 71, thereby enabling to satisfy the torque required by the load and to control the commutation to be performed within the range surrounded by bcd, de and efga as shown in the diagram which will become the area whereon the commutation can be performed.
