Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce staples having metal parts of their heads exposed or coated with thin films, as occasion demands, by adhering an insulating coating liquid onto the upper surface of the staple head, and injecting compressed air onto the coated staple head.
CONSTITUTION: Staples S1 are aligned on a conveyer 2, and coated with a coating liquid at the upper portions. Compressed air is injected through a nozzle 8 to the liquid adhered onto the upper surface to remove or blow away the liquid. Consequently, the liquid layer on the upper surface becomes thin, or the metal part of the staple heat is exposed to the air. A wind-proof cover 4 is arranged adjacent to the nozzle 8, and the cover 4 is provided with a vent 11, for injecting the compressed air only to the upper surface. The reciprocation of a cylinder 6 facilitates the removal of the coating liquid from the upper surfaces of a plutrality of staples S1 at once.
