Abstract
PURPOSE: To filter a slurry in the same apparatus after cystallization by providing a raw material inlet and a gas inlet at the upper part of a closed type classifier provided with a heating or cooling jacket and also providing a filter plate for separating solid from liquid and a filtrate outlet at the lower part of the classifier.
CONSTITUTION: The inside of a classifier 1 is replaced with an inert gas, e.g., nitrogen, etc., and raw material dissolved in a solvent is sent to the classifier 1 whose temperature is controlled at a given temperature by cooling with a refrigerant passed in a jacket under the supervision of a thermometer 10, where crystallization and aging are performed. Then, the slurry containing crystals and kept at the temperature is passed through a filter plate 2 to separate into solid and liquid. Filtrate is taken out of a filtrate outlet 6, and the filter cake composed of crystals is later dissolved in a heated solvent and taken out of the same outlet. And, solvent is removed from these liquids to obtain product. In case filtration under atmospheric pressure is difficult, pressure filtration using an inert gas is carried out.
