Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to distribute load equally, at the time of operation stoppage, to elevator installed around the supporting legs for a rack and pinion type elevator system for an elevating off-shore platform, by making use of a oil hydraulic cylinder on the head side.
CONSTITUTION: When a platform body 4 is in a floating state on the sea, weight of legs 2 are transmitted to the platform body 4 through elevating units 3, upper joints 18 and rubber cushions 28. Then when the legs 2 reach the bottom to start to lift up the platform body 4, load from a rack 6 is transmitted to the platform body 4 through the elevating units 3, joints 18, hydraulic cylinders 23 and lower joints 21. At the time, when the elevating units 3 begin supporting the weight of the platform body 4 from the supporting legs 2 and deflection reactions of the rubber cushions 28 are applied to each hydraulic cylinders 23, operations of the elevating units are to be stopped whenever the hydraulic pressure reaches a set value and presure oil of the hydraulic cylinder on the head side is to be removed and pistons level is to be aligned at the middle part of the cylinders.
