Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the composite wire for hard facing padding where ultrahardness is distributed uniformly throughout the padding layer, by charging ultrahard material powder of a specific grain size in the tube obtained by bending and molding band steel. CONSTITUTION:The band steel of stainless and ordinary steel is bent and molded successively by many rolls. In this bending and molding process, one or more of ultrahard materials such as WC, NbC, TiC, VC, BN, TiN, and CO of the grain size of 150 meshes or less are added onto the bent and molded band steel, and this band steel is bent and molded furthermore. As a result, the composite wire which has ultrahard material powder charged and consists of the band steel molded into a tube is obtained. By this composite wire, the quality of hard facing padding of ultrahard materials of the tool joint and so on of the oil well tube is stabilized, and the resistance to wear of it is improved.
