Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a seat height adjusting apparatus adapted to make the seat floor adjustable at the optimal condition for drivers or the like by stepless lifting employing a parallel link mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A parallel link mechanism is composed of arms 3a-3d between a seat rail 1 and a seat frame 2 and adjusts the height of the seat frame from the seat rail with connecting bars 4a and 4b fastened at the bottom of the arm. After the arm 5 is fastened on one side of the connecting bar, one end of a driving link 6 is pivoted between the arms while a screw sleeve 7, a shaft screw 8 and a shaft 10 are connected to the other end thereof. A locking mechanism 12 is inserted to enable the axial movement of the shaft screw 8 and a driving shaft 10 with a pin 15 and a slot 16, on which a lock pin 18 is fastened. The driving shaft 10 is turned by inserting the lock pin into and withdrawing from a locking ring 19 thereby lifting and lowering the seat frame 2 through the driving link 6.
