Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the float-up performance of a servo track information writing head and thus ensure a writing of a high-quality servo track information, by attaching much importance to the float-up performance of the writing head when deciding the angle of attachment of the writing head. CONSTITUTION:The angle is set at 50 deg. that is formed by a cross between the head gap 22 and the shifting direction 24 of the servo track information writing head 21. Owing to this angle of 50 deg., the angle formed by a cross between the orthogonal line 45 of the head cap 22 of the head 21 at the inner circumference and the track tangent direction line 46a is set at 51 deg. that is smaller and more stable than the conventional angle. However, the angle formed by a cross between the line 45 at the outer circumference and the track tangent direction line 46b is set at 52 deg.. Thus an average and stable float-up is secured between the inner and outer tracks.
