Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit to obtain a high hardening amount by aging treatment in the titled stainless steel by controlling a ratio of Nb/(N+1.17C) (a wt% respectively) between Nb, C and N by containing those elements to a specific value to reduce hardness irregularity in a solid solution condition and to make hardness low.
CONSTITUTION: In an Fe-Cr-Ni martensite type stainless steel, C is adjusted to 0.05% or less, N to 0.05% or less and a ratio of Nb/(Nb+1.17C) is controlled to 7.0W20. As the result, solid solution hardness is made low, irregularity thereof are suppressed to a small extent and a hardening amount due to aging is made high and, further, toughness and ductility are insured by controlling an excessive amount of Nb. Therefore, the homogenous and stable titled stainless steel with reduced irregularity about characteristics in a solid solution and an aging conditions is obtained.
