Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a highly safe and intravenously injectable γ-globulin pharmaceutical, by adding a sugar alcohol to a human γ-globulin solution.
CONSTITUTION: A γ-globulin pharmaceutical is obtained by adding a sugar alcohol, e.g., erythritol, xylitol, arabitol, mannitor or sorbitol, to a human γ-globulin solution. The sugar alcohols have the actions of dissociating γ-globulin aggregation included in the γ-globulin and suppressing the production of the aggregation to stabilize the γ-globulin pharmaceutical, and these actions are more powerful than those of sugars such as glucose. Therefore, crude γ-globulin having a higher anticomplementary value can also be used as the material, and particularly a lyophilized γ-globulin pharmaceutical can also be produced because of the improved storage stability thereof.
