Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the productivity of cellulase, by separating the cellulase preparation process into the cell production step and the enzyme production step, and carrying out the enzyme production recycling the culturing liquid through a separating tank, thereby keeping the concentration of the cell at a high level.
CONSTITUTION: A glucose source and a celluose source are fed to the first fermentor 2 through the feed pipe 3, and cellulase-producing bacteria (e.g. Trichoderma reesei) are inoculated and cultured in the fermentor. The culturing liquid of the first fermentor 2 is transferred to the second fermentor 5 through a feed pipe 4. The second fermentor 5 is furnished with a separation tank 7, to which the culturing liquid in the second fermentor 5 is discharged through a separation pipe 8 at regular intervals. After definite time interval, the supernatant liquid is discharged from the separation tank 7 through a discharge pipe 9, and the precipitate is recycled to the second fermentor, whereby the cellulase can be produced keeping the bacterial cell concentration at a high level.
