Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to exactly detect a residual amount by a simple structure, by detecting a detector which goes down in accordance with a residual amount of toner in the toner feed vessel, by use of the outside contactless switch. CONSTITUTION:One pair of guide wires 41, 42 are provided in the toner vessle 1 for storing a toner 2. On the other hand, a detector is provided so as to be able to move up and down along the wires 41, 42. The toner 2 is discharged to the developing equipment by means of rotation of a dispense roll 3 which is provided on the lower part of the toner feed vessel 1, according to which the detector being kept floating on the toner goes down. A magnet 51 is provided on one side of the detector, and the contactless switch 9 reacts by this magnet, closes the detection circuit, and operates the indicator 10. When a lot of contactless switches 9 are provided along the wall surface, it is also possible to display a level of the residual toner.
