Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize simplification of the constitution of circuits by using a relaxation-type oscillator whose oscillation frequency is decided by electrostatic capacity and resistance so as to obtain a linear conversion property and by using a simple counter. CONSTITUTION:The displacement converting device consists of a differential-type capacity element 301, a switching circuit 302, an oscillator 303, an operation part 304 and an output part 305, and the differential-type capacity element 301 is composed of fixed electrodes 306 and 307 and a movable electrode 308. Moreover, the switching circuit 302 has switches 309 and 310 for a gate circuit, etc., and since these perform operations of on and off alternately, the electrostatic capacities C1 and C2 are switches and connected alternately to the single relaxation-type oscillator (hereinafter called the oscillator) 303. The switching is controlled by the operation part 304. In addition, the operation part 304 counts the output from the oscillator 303 by an averaging means wherein an integrating circuit composed of a counter 408, resistors 409, 410 and capacitors 411, 412 is used. By these arrangements, the simplification of the constitution of circuits is realized.
