PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of the position of a cutting tip, in a tool for adjusting the cutting edge of a boring cutter or the like, by arranging a gear mechanism and an adjusting plate provided with a cam mechanism, taking into account a certain prescribed relationship between them. CONSTITUTION:The pinion 9 of a gear mechanism is turned to rotate an adjusting plate 5 which has a peripheral gear portion 8 engaged with the pinion 9. Projections 7 of cartridges 3 located in contact with the eccentric arc-shaped surfaces 6 of the adjusting plate 5 are moved up and down by the rotation of the plate 5 to steplessly adjust the position of the cartridges 3 which carry cutting tips 4. After the adjustment, the adjusting plate 5 is secured on a main body 1 with a lockup bolt 12.
