Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable an ingot to be gas-cut without damaging ingot conveying rollers with simple equipment constitution by controlling the rotating speed of endless conveyor for an ingot in follow-up to an ingot cutting speed. CONSTITUTION:When the leading end of an ingot which is advancing in an arrow direction at the drawing speed of pinch rollers along with continuous casting on a roller table is detected with a detecting end 22, a cutter nozzle 24 is moved from a standby position to a cutting start position. Thence, when an intended cutting length is counted by starting driving of a measuring roller with the detection signal by a detecting end 23, the nozzle 24 is advanced by the command signal of a control unit, whereby the cutting of the ingot is started. By this command signal, the endless conveyor driven by a motor 21 is turned in an arrow direction in synchronization with the advancing speed of the nozzle 24. The motor 21 is accelerated by the gas cutting end signal from the control unit, by which the cut ingot is rapidly conveyed and the nozzle 24 is automatically reset to the cutting start position, then the endless conveyor stops turning. The ingot to be cut next is counted of the cutting length with the measuring roller in succession and the above-mentioned cutting operations are repeated.
