Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance cutting accuracy of a device to cut a work running into specified dimensions by permitting the shear to operate continuously at a constant speed which is quicker by a value corresponding to the difference between the shear's circumference and the dimension of cutting particularly when cutting into a dimension which shall be shorter than the circumference of the shear rotating.
CONSTITUTION: When a material is to be cut into a dimension which is shorter than the circumference of the shear, the speed of material VB is held as rated while the shear is operated continuouly at a constant speed with respect to the material which is quicker by a value corresponding to the difference beween the shear circumference LR and the set cutting length LO, whereby the material is cut into intended dimensions. In practice, a factor C obtained by dividing the set cutting length LO with the shear's circumference LR is placed into a multiplier device 18 at shear position LS and control is carried out on the assumption that the shear's circumference is bot LR but the set cutting length, LO, and the material speed VB is multiplied by 1/C at the multiplier device 19 and the product obtained is used as the shear reference signal for driving the shear at a speed quicker by a value corresponding to the difference between the shear's circumference LR and the set cutting length LO.
