Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the trapping of the light carriers generated in a photosensitive layer contg. a phthalocyanine pigment at the exposure and improve the holding capacity of uniformly charged charge by using poly N-vinyl carbazole and a leuco dye as binders for said photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The coating liquid consisting of 1pt.wt. a phthalocyanine pigment G, 2pts.wt. poly N-vinyl carbazole, 1pt.wt. a leuco dye such as leuco malachite green and 0.1pt.wt. a binder such as polyester resin is coated on a conductive substrate C and is dried, whereby a photosensitive layer P is formed. The binder has preferably compatibility with the leuco dye and solvents for polyvinyl carbozole. The poly N-vinyl carbazole and leuco dye of the photosensitive layer P improve the transport capacity of the carriers generated by exposure to the photosensitive layer P surface and the conductive substrate C, and improve the uniform chargeability of the photosensitive layer P surface, thereby enabling the image of good quality to be obtained.
