Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically compensate increase in the load torque, to simplify the constitution, and to compact it in such a way that a movable pulley plate is engaged in torsional splices with a fixing pulley plate which forms V-shaped grooves on the follower side.
CONSTITUTION: A movable pulley plate 42 is pressed with impetus by a resilient member 44 to a fixing pulley plate 35 which forms V-shaped grooves 43 on the follower side, and this movable pulley plate 42 is engaged in torsional splices with the fixing pulley plate 35. When load torque on the follower shaft 30 is increased through an output shaft 49, the fixing pulley plate 35 and the movable pulley plate 42 are relatively revolved, so that this relative revolution works on engagement in torsional splines 41 with a boss 34 for the fixing pulley plate and a boss 40 for the movable pulley plate, and width of the V-shaped grooves 43 on the follower side is made automatically and forcibly decreased. In result, with expansion of the V- shaped grooves 9 on the drive side, deceleration ratio is enlarged, and increase in torque on the engine side can drive the follower shaft 30.
