Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled dehydroator capable of efficiently dehydrating an aqueous slurry of the water granulated blast-furnace slag by a method wherein a pivotably rotatable annular dehydration trough fitted with a scraper for discharging the slag is combined with a blowing trough provided with an opening for discharging a supernatant.
CONSTITUTION: The annular dehydration trough 10 having a filter member 11 such as wire mesh stretched at the bottom part thereof is rotatably pivoted by a central shaft 10a, the scraper 15 is placed at a position on this side of the blowing trough 1 supplying the slurry into the dehydration trough 10, and discharge ports 1a, 1b for the supernatant are provided on the side faces of the blowing trough 1. In the said dehydrator, the slurry supplied from the blowing trough 1 is deprived of water as the supernatant through the discharge ports 1a, 1b, then is introduced into the dehydration trough 10 being rotated, and water is further discharged through the filter member 11. The granulated slag thus dehydrated is then scraped by the scraper 15 and is taken out through chutes 16a, 16b and conveyors 17a, 17b.
