Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a tracking signal which is not affected by the recording beam light, by holding the output of the photodetector in the signal just before the radiation time of the recording beam light during this time, in the tracking control circuit of the optical disc device. CONSTITUTION:Photodetectors 181 and 182 are arranged in the radius direction of the disc, and respective outputs are led to sample holding circuits 231 and 232 and are sample-held in values just before the radiation time of the recording beam light at the period of the recording information pulse. Outputs of respective sample hold circuits have envelopes detected by envelope detectors 261 and 262, and their difference is outputted by comparator 27 and is used as a tracking signal. At the reproducing time, sample holding circuits are by-passed.
