Abstract
PURPOSE:To turn off a thyristor valve without damaging the valve, by giving a gate pulse signal with a set time interval after a by-passed switch-on signal is generated. CONSTITUTION:A by-pass switch-on signal (C), a turn-off signal (g) for a U-phase valve 12 and a forward voltage signal FV are inputted to an AND gate 19, and an output signal (h) is input to a timer circuit 20. After a set delay time, a signal (i) is outputted to a pulse circuit 21. The pulse circuit 21 outputs a one-shot pulse (j) and outputs a reset signal to a flip-flop 14 in an OR gate with both an output signal (c) of an additional coverage angle period discriminating circuit 16 and the one shot pulse (j) as the input signals. With such a simple arrangement a gate pulse can be turned off with sureness without damaging a valve.
