Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the dynamic end point of carbon contents in steel with high accuracy by using the mathematical expression corresponding to the amount of the oxygen to be blown from the time when the carbon contents in steel in the end period of blowing were measured up to the end point and the actually measured carbon contents in steel. CONSTITUTION:In converter operation, the rate of oxygen consumption in the end period of blowing is expressed by the polynomial for carbon contents in steel. Based on this polynominal as well as actual data including the carbon content Cs in steel obtained through sublance measurement at the time of a proper time before the end point of blowing, the amount DELTAO2 of the oxygen blown from this time up to the end of blowing, and the carbon content CE in steel, the formula calculating the required amount of oxygen to be blown in this period is beforehand obtained. The respective data obtained by the sublance measurement are given to this mathematical expression at every time of blowing to calculate the required amount of oxygen to be blown, and the operation based on the result of this calculation is carried out. By this method, the carbon contents in molten steel at the end point of blowing is controlled with high accuracy.
