Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an antenna for a radar having a small energizing phase error by increasing the degree of freedom of design without limiting the sizes, etc., of a parallel flat plate and array antenna, by arraying input elements of the array antenna on a curved line which is not any part of a circle. CONSTITUTION:In designing, input elements 2a, 2c and 2d are regarded as focuses and even if any of three elements is excited, any energizing phase error should not be generated. For example, parallel flat plate 1 consists of a dielectric substrate of specific dielectric constant epsilonr and a couple of parallel conductor plates sandwiching it from both the surfaces; value epsilonr and the size of the substrate are not limited, and the size of array antenna 5 is not limited neither. Angles (alpha) and (beta) are not limited to alpha=beta. Thus, design parameters are increased and while the energizing phase error when the inside and outside of three said elements are energized is minimized, the array curve of the input elements is determined to array the elements on a different curve from part of a usual circumference.
