Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to improve wire supplying property at the time of manufacturing and adhesive property of covering flux, by making a surface treatment agent composed mainly of slaked lime containing fatty acid salt adhered to the surface of core wire.
CONSTITUTION: When covered welding rod core wires are manufactured by drawing and cutting in the wire drawing process, a surface treatment agent containing ≥60wt% slaked lime as the main constituent and ≥10% fatty acid salt is used as a lubricating agent for wire drawing. Therefore, a wire drawing property which is equal to or superior to conventional ones is given to the core wire and the surface treatment agent is adhered to the surface of core wire before painting without any additional process. Thus covered welding rod core wires having good wire drawing property and covering flux adhering property and obtained.
