Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of unneeded cross talk by stopping the output of an indirect-sound generating circuit when reproducing main and sub-sounds from left and right loudspeakers at the same time. CONSTITUTION:Through multiplex demodulating circuit 7, the stereo has left and right-channel outputs and, in bilingual broadcast mode, generates the demodulation output with the left channel for a main broadcast and the right channel for a sub- broadcast. This output, when output as a sound from output circuits 12 and 13, is felt to be narrow in sound field, so it is mixed with the output of indirect-sound generating circuit 2 by synthesizing circuits 10 and 11 on the way. Listening to a main broadcast from the right channel and a sub-broadcast from the left channel mixes a different broadcast because of indirect-sound generating circuit 2, causing unneeded cross talk. For this purpose, indirect-sound generating circuit 2 is provided with a switch for stopping the circuit in main/sub-broadcast simultaneous reproduction.
