Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a light glove-box lid for vehicles which has a foamed layer on the surface thereof by inserting a sheet-like foamed skin into the inside of hollow molding metal dies, introducing a parison into both metal dies and applying blow molding. CONSTITUTION:The rectangular sheetlike foamed skin 1 coated with a bonding agent 2 on the back surface thereof is inserted into the inside of one of the right and left hollow molding metal dies 3 by vacuum adsorption and the parison 4 is introduced into the metal dies while the dies being left opend. After the dies are closed, the parison 4 is expanded by blowing air in from a blow-in port 5 and thereby the hollow glove-box lid 1 if formed integrally with the foamed skin 1. By this constitution, even when the secondary crash of a driver occurs in the case of crash of a vehicle, a shock caused thereby is alleviated by the foamed skin, and even when the core material of the lid is broken, the foamed skin prevents a sharp edge being exposed and thus no fear that the edge gives damage to the drive is caused.
