Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a microcapsule of improved resistance to weak pressure and friction by reacting the raw material consisting of melamine as well as alkyl monoalcohol and formaldehyde on the surface of hydrophobic fine particles in the presence of a high polymer electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Hydrophobic fine particles such as leuco dyes are emulsified and dispersed in an anionic high polymer electrolyte such as styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer. An aqueous soln. of the melamine type precondensate consisting of melamine as well as one or more kinds of modifying agents such as alkyl monoalcohol, ethyleneurea, paratoluenesulfonamide or the like and formaldehyde etc. as raw materials is added to this emulsified liquid, and the mixture is stirred under heating, whereby encapsulation reaction is caused. These capsules are suitably usable for nocarbon pressure-sensitive recording paper etc.
