Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct fluctuations of the extent of a phase shift caused by fluctuations of temperature by varying the amplitude of electric pulse current flowed to excite a ferromagnetic body. CONSTITUTION:In a waveguide, forromagnetic body 2 is arranged, thermocouples 43a and 43b penetrate the squre hole of the magnetic body, and pulse current Ih flowed from exciter 44 is changed over between the positive and negative to control the phase of a microwave signal flowing through the waveguide. Then, electromotive force proportional to the fluctuations of the temperature of ferromagnetic body 2 is generated across thermocouple elements. This electromotive force is input to differential amplifier 47 by way of gate circuit 45 and low-pass filter 46. Further, a reference voltage is applied to the other input of amplifier 47. The output of differential amplifier 47 is supplied to control voltage generator 48, which develops and applies a control voltage, in accordance with variation in input signal, to exciter 44 to control the amplitude of the pulse current in accordance with the fluctuations of temperature, thereby making the extent of a phase shift constant.
