Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the minimum steam flow rate required for the continuous operation of a boiler during turbine tripping by installing a bypass valve in a bypass line and a steam flow detector or a flow switch in a steam supply line.
CONSTITUTION: A bypass line 20 is provided with a bypass valve 26 and a control unit 28 is furnished with a steam flow detector 32, a memory 34, a function generator 36, and an actuating pressure setting device 38. During normal operations of a turbine 39, the steam flow detector 32 detects fluctuations in steam supply volume and the detected fluctuations are stored by the memory 34. When a turbine trip is produced, a contact 40 is set off, and a switch 42 is changed over. The opening of the bypass valve 26 is maintained by the memory 34 and the function generator 36 so that the steam supply volume directly before tripping may be provided. Therefore, the device prevents a boiler from tripping and ensures a steady supply of service steam for the turbine.
