PURPOSE:To improve dispersibility and durability of magnetic powder by using a binder contg. a modified urethane resin having polyurethane molecules having OHs at other than both terminals of the main chain, a polyvinyl butyral resin and a low mol.wt. polyol. CONSTITUTION:Modified polyurethane contg. polyurethane molecules having average 1-3 OHs per molecule at other than both terminals of the main chain and a polyvinyl butyral resin are compounded at ratios 9:1-1:9 by weight. A polyol of <=10,000 mol.wt. having OHs at both terminals is contained by 5-50wt% to the total amount of the three, this and said two resins, to prepare the binder component, whereby the dispersibility, abrasion resistance, etc. of magnetic powder are improved. Further, if polyisocyanate of <=1,000 mol.wt. is added at 3-50wt% of the total amount of this and said three resin components, crosslinking density is increased and heat resistance, chemical resistance and abrasion resistance are much improved.
