Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the grinding efficiency of the method wherein the electrolytic effect and the mechanical grinding effect are made to act in grinding, by supplying a pulse current and selecting the grain depth of cut to be less than 5mum. CONSTITUTION:A given grain depth of cut G is provided between a rotary grinding wheel electrode 4 and a workpiece 3, which are made to contacted to each other under pressure, and electrolyte is supplied from a nozzle 8 to the grinding gap therebetween, to which power is supplied from a power source 6 (the workpiece is an anode) and a grinding feed is provided to a machining table 1 to machine the workpiece 3. Pulses are used for the energizing power sourde 6, so that the current density increases. The grain depth of cut G is selected to be less than 5mum, and the speed of the grinding relative movement is made higher, 1-10m/mm.. Thereby, the grinding ratio is improved as well as the grinding efficiency.
