Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the removal of the material and its slewing on an anvil by means of one unit of the device by opposedly providing two frames freely slidably to a stationary frame and moving the arms grasping the material to be forged in and out by means of these frames.
CONSTITUTION: Frames 7, 8 are provided opposedly and freely slidably to the stationary frame 5 mounted to the leading end of a forklift. Upper, lower guide rails 9a, 9b are provided to the front of both frames 7, 8 and sliding frames 11 are moved in and out along the guide rails 9a, 9b. Arms 16 are pivotally mounted to the leading ends of both frames 11 by way of shafts 15. Cylinders 13 are operated to align the leading ends of both arms 16 and slide the frames 7, 8; at the same time the forklift is moved to insert the arms 16 into a furnace, thence the material to be forged is grasped by the operation of the cylinders and is removed from the furnace inside. At this time, one arm 16 is projected and the material to be forged is slewed and is subjected to desired forging.
