Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve mechanical hardness and scratching resistance without changing the electrophotographic characteristics of a photoconductive layer by making inorg. oxides having more than specific hardness contained in the photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographic receptor having a photoconductive layer comprising dispersing and contg. a photoconductive material (e.g.; ZnO, TiO2, phthalocyanine, anthracene, etc.) in a binder (e.g.; acrylic resin, epoxy resin, styrene resin, etc.), an inorg. oxide of >=5H hardness (pencil hardness) (e.g., Al2O3, CeO2, MgO, etc.) is contained in the photoconductive layer at 0.01-30 pts.wt., more preferably, 0.05-15pts.wt., in 100pts.wt. the binder, whereby the electrophotographic receptor of high scratching resistance and impact resistance is obtained.
