Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of an air spring suspension mechanism and increase its space by jointly combining a stabilizer function with it. CONSTITUTION:When a car body 4 is inclined, high pressure air is supplied to the lower chamber 15 of an air cylinder 11 on the rise side through the upper chamber 14 of the air cylinder 11 and a connection pipe 18 by the opening of a leveling valve 25 on the fall side and the air within the lower chamber 15 of the air cylinder 11 on the fall side is discharged into the atmosphere from an exhaust port 24a through the upper chamber 14 of the air cylinder 11 on the rise side. Consequently, the volume of the upper chamber 14 to which high pressure air is supplied is expanded at the air cylinder 11 on the fall side and that of the lower chamber 15 also at the air cylinder 11 on the rise side in the same way. Therefore, upward and downward force are actuated on the car body 4 on the fall and rise sides, respectively, which become a couple of forces in the inclined rotational and reverse directions. As a result, the car body 4 is quickly returned to the horizontal state by the couple of forces and its travel stability is maintained.
