Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the efficiency for recording and the recording density, by providing the groove on the magnetic substance substrate, forming the winding with the conductor layer longitudinally crossed on the nonmagnetic substance and forming the magnetic substance layer having the front gap of specific shape, by crossing on the conductor layer.
CONSTITUTION: The groove filled in the nonmagnetic substance 6, (l) in width and (h) in depth is provided for the magnetic substance substrate 1. Next, the nonmagnetic substance insulating layers 2, 4 are formed on the substrate 1. Further, the winding is formed with the conductor layer 3 crossing over the nonmagnetic substance 6. Next, the mganetic substance layer 5 of uniform thickness is provided by crossing the conductor layer 3 transversally, so that the width (w) of the gap A is constant and the width W of the conductor layer crossing part B is less than W and it is gradually decreased in the vicinity of the A. The value of the ratio w/W is taken as about 0.25. The width of air gap is (g), depth of air gap is (d), and thickness of magnetic sunbstance layer is formed as (p). Thus, the magnetic field at the tip of gap is made stronger to increase the recording efficiency and the recording density. The conductor layer 3 can be constituted with a plurality of windings in spiral to obtain increased output of reproduction.
