Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the restriction of the upper limit of measured frequency by a method wherein a local oscillation light and a sweep light are made to fall on the detector which is an object of measurement and made to be subjected to heterodyne detection and the electric output thereof is observed by a frequency-dependent observing means. CONSTITUTION:The local oscillation light from a carbonic-acid gas laser LC is made to fall on the detector D which is the object of measurement through the intermediary of a beam splitter BS and a lens L2. Meanwhile, the sweep light whose frequency changes periodically is radiated from a diode laser LD and is made to fall on the detector D through the intermediary of a lens L1, the beam splitter BS and the lens L2. The detector D applies heterodyne detection to both incident lights and the output therefrom is given to a frequency response characteristic observing device SA through the intermediary of an intermediate frequency amplifier IFA.
