Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency and precision of operation by making it possible to detect the roughness of a lapped surface without detaching a lapping machine from a member to be lapped. CONSTITUTION:Through the meshing between gear 2 incorporated in lapping machine 1 and gear 4 on rotary cylinder shaft 3, rotary cylinder shaft 3 is driven to rotate on shaft 7 via vertical position adjusting mechanism 6 to supporting board 5. Lap surface plate 8 fixed at the lower end of rotary cylinder shaft 3 is rotated closely to lap surface (b) of material (a) to be lapped. The surface roughness detector has stay 11 standing at the upper part outside of lapping machine 1 and to the tip of supporting arm 12 extending horizontally from the top end of the stay 11, dial meter 13 is so fixed that sensing needle 13a operates vertically. Supporting arm 12 performs are motion around the stay 11 and sensing needle 13a moves on the core of shaft 7 of lapping machine 1.
