PURPOSE:A device which can put aside machining position to any specified direction utilizing elongation control of an electrostriction machine or a magnetostriction machine in electrical discharge machining, electrochemical machining, etc. CONSTITUTION:Magnetostriction machines 7A, 8B and 7c consisting of cobalt steel, AF alloy, nickel steel, etc. are elongated by excitation and push up a movable plate 6, rotate a ball 2 via a supporting shaft 4, give an inclining motion about Z-axis to a supporting element 3 and an electrode 8, tilt a spindle 1 about Z-axis and in XY- plane perpendicular to Z-axis and give head shaking motion to the spindle, and put aside feeds. By controlling with the saturation characteristic of magnetostriction machines, amount of feed is always kept constant and at high accuracy.
