Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent ooccurrence of a crack in a direction of 45° for a shearing direction and obtain a smooth shorn surfce when slit shearing a flat steel plate or wide coil, by suppressing a curve generated in a direction of width of the flat plate or wide coil at its shearing work.
CONSTITUTION: On both sides of flat steel plate or wide coil 1 to be processed slit shearing, grooves 9 are formed by notched rollers 8 along an expected slit line. Then at both width ends 1' of the flat steel plate or wide coil 1, a slit edge 5' and its corresponding idle roller 11' are slightly given a slope to their circumferential face respectively to strongly hold and rotate the width end 1', thus the width end 1' is strongly pressed toward a shearing side to perform slit shearing work along the groove 9 while suppressing a curve generated in a width direction of the flat steel plate or wide coil 1 at its shearing work, finally its shorn side can be smoothed.
