PURPOSE:To prevent any decrease of the initial characteristics and the life-performance characteristics of a curved fluorescent lamp, by adding calcium borate to a fluorescent body, which is affixed to the inner wall of a light-transmitting airtight case made of either a soda-lime glass or a low lead glass. CONSTITUTION:A light-transmitting airtight case is made of either a soda-lime glass which has a softening point of 640-720 deg.C and a linear-expansion coefficient of 92-105X10<-7>cm/cm/ deg.C, or a low lead glass which contains not more than 12wt% of lead oxide. The inner wall of this case is coated with 2.9-3.9mg/cm<2> of a fluorescent body which contains 0.2-2.0wt% of calcium borate.
